NICOLIANA was born and raised in Los Angeles, California where she found her love for dance at an early age. Nicoliana is trained in Jazz and Hip- Hop and made her transition to Bellydance when she started studying under the multiple award winning Shoshanna in Northern California. Soon Nicoliana began performing with The Lailaa Chandani Dance Enseble (presently Ya Habibi Dance company) and became a soloist in the company directed by Shoshanna. After five years Nicoliana moved back to Los Angeles where she started performing with the Bellydance Superstar Choreographer Jillina. While dancing in Hollywood with Jillina's Sahlala Dance company she was able to branch out and performed many styles including Egyptian, Persian, Armenian, Indian, Sword, and Salsa.
Nicoliana is well trained and some of her specialties include; four-yard veil, sword, spanish-arabic fan dance, modern Egyptian, Egyptian stick dance, Khaleegy, and Turkish Rom. The fact that Nicoliana studies the cultures of these dances along with the movements, allows her to teach and perform with respect for the Middle Eastern culture. Bringing knowledge of the history of the dance is something that she strives to incorporate into her classes to ensure that she does not contribute to any misconceptions of this beautiful art form.
